# Checkout Recommendations

The optional **Recommendations AI** checkout extension displays personalized product suggestions during Shopify checkout and lets shoppers add an available product without leaving checkout.

## Add the Block

1. In Shopify admin, open **Settings > Checkout**.
2. Select the checkout profile and click **Customize**.
3. Add the **Recommendations AI** App Block to a supported checkout section.
4. Enter the required **Serving Configuration ID**, then adjust the optional heading, number of items, and button text.
5. Save the checkout profile.

The defaults are **Recommended for you**, two items, and an **Add** button. The block can show one or two items.

Keep the [Core Components App Embed](/shopify/theme-installation/#core-components-and-app-pixel) enabled so the same anonymous visitor ID can personalize storefront and checkout recommendations. When checkout has no eligible recommendations, the block stays hidden.
